BARBOUR INTERNATIONAL is a brand in its own right, inspired by the world of motorcycling as seen through a BARBOUR lens. In 1936, Duncan Barbour added the “Barbour International” to the collection – a jacket developed specifically for the International Six Days Trials (ISDT, now the International Six Days Enduro). The Barbour International became the jacket of choice for the majority of the British teams and plenty more from around the world through to 1977.
During the 1964 ISDT in East Germany, the Barbour International was worn by all of the US team, including the actor Steve McQueen and legendary stuntman Bud Ekins (who performed the famous jump at the end of the film The Great Escape).
